SOLUTIONS

The Florida Roof Deck Association (FRDA) and its members strive to provide the highest quality applications with the most professional attitudes and practices.

OUR COMMITMENT

Building departments and design professionals are entitled to have confidence in the installation of lightweight insulating concrete roof deck systems. Any product or system that is manufactured in the field is subject to variations due to workmanship, weather, jobsite conditions and interpretations of the construction documents. We in the lightweight insulating concrete business are fortunate to have satisfactory ranges in the installation of our product. Often, the contractor, architect or building inspector is unaware or familiar with the standards of an “acceptable” deck.

The purpose of the FRDA Quality Assurance Program is to respond quickly and professionally to inquiries questioning the installation of a lightweight insulating concrete roofdeck and to ensure that the roof deck system is installed per manufacturers specifications.

INNOVATION

The FRDA is currently participating in the modification of the Florida Building Code in order to clarify Section 1917 – Lightweight Insulating Concrete Fill. The Current Florida Building Code is provided here: Florida Building Code Section 1917.
